About

NCBA Group Plc is one of Kenya's largest banking groups, providing a comprehensive range of financial services including retail banking, corporate and business banking, investment banking, treasury services, brokerage, bancassurance, and digital banking solutions. The group operates through a network of 104 branches across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Ivory Coast, with the majority of its income derived from Kenya (90.7%). At the end of 2021, it managed KES 469.9 billion in customer deposits and KES 244 billion in loans, positioning it as a key player in East Africa's financial sector.

Formed in October 2019 through the merger of NIC Bank (originally National Industrial Credit Bank Limited, founded in 1959) and Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA), NCBA Group combined the strengths of both institutions to create a stronger entity focused on innovation, such as cutting-edge mobile banking, while maintaining personal customer relationships. The merger was approved by shareholders in April 2019, with regulatory nods from the Central Bank of Kenya in September 2019. NIC Bank had been listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange since 1971.

NCBA Group holds a significant market position as one of the top banks on the NSE, with a market capitalization reflecting its status among Kenya's leading financial institutions. It emphasizes long-term customer and community interests, supporting economic growth in Kenya and the region through diverse products like loans, overdrafts, asset finance, trade finance, and electronic banking services.
