HF Group Plc is an integrated financial solutions provider in Kenya, operating primarily through its subsidiaries in mortgage lending, commercial banking, property development, and bancassurance. Originally incorporated in 1965 as the Housing Finance Company of Kenya, it took over operations from the Kenyan branch of the First Permanent Building Society, with initial ownership split between the Commonwealth Development Corporation (60%) and the Government of Kenya (40%). The company began operations in 1966 to promote thrift and home ownership, quickly filling the market gap for indigenous Kenyans seeking mortgages, and was listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange in 1992 under the ticker HFCK.

The group operates through key segments including Retail Banking (offering deposits, micro/personal loans, and residential mortgages), Corporate Banking (deposits and loans for property developers), Property Development (housing projects), and Bancassurance (insurance agency services). It serves both individual and corporate customers, with a focus on residential and customized mortgages, real estate loans, and infrastructure financing for schools, hospitals, and office blocks. In 2014-2017, it restructured by transferring banking operations to subsidiary HFC Limited and rebranding from HF Group Limited to HF Group Plc in July 2017.

Headquartered in Nairobi, HF Group holds a significant position as one of Kenya's premier mortgage finance institutions and a major player in commercial banking, with total assets around KSh55 billion as of recent reports. It is regulated by the Central Bank of Kenya and competes with leaders like Kenya Commercial Bank in the mortgage market.
