CIC Insurance Group Limited is a leading Kenyan insurance and investment group that provides a comprehensive range of financial services, including general insurance, life assurance, medical insurance, pension and annuities, fund management, asset management, and private equity investments. Operating primarily in Kenya with a regional presence in Uganda, South Sudan, and Malawi, the company serves over 1 million customers through 25 local branches, more than 1000 financial advisors, and multiple online platforms. Founded in 1968 as a department within the Kenya National Federation of Co-operatives, CIC evolved into Co-operative Insurance Services Limited in 1978, became Co-operative Insurance Company of Kenya Limited in 1999, and rebranded to CIC Insurance Group Limited in 2010 to prepare for the de-merger of its life and general business operations. The group listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) on 18 July 2012, becoming the sixth insurance company and 60th overall listing on the exchange. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, CIC has subsidiaries such as CIC General Insurance, CIC Life Assurance, and CIC Asset Management, and is recognized for awards like AKI Group Life Company of the Year since 2015.

As the only cooperative insurance entity listed on the NSE, CIC holds a strong market position as Kenya's leading micro and co-operative insurer and the fifth largest by market share. Majority-owned by Co-operative Bank of Kenya (35.71%) and various co-operative societies, the group emphasizes innovation, such as the M-Bima mobile insurance platform, and has expanded regionally since 2015 while maintaining a commitment to prompt claims payment and stakeholder returns.
